Next On the 6 O'clock News

Thursday was a little different around here. We are one of the 300,000 households in Ohio that need to have their gas riser replaced due to shoty craftsmanship. The news story can be found here. During the day Thursday Jen was at home while the work was being done. The gas company had to enter the house a couple times as part of the repair process. A news crew with NBC Channel 4 also showed up to ask the typical questions about utility companies entering ones household and the threat of an intruder. Jen was dressed in the stereotypical news interviewee outfit consisting of t-shirt, sweatpants, and hair up in a pony tail. I might I also add that she met the other stereotypical news interviewee requirement of not having a clue what she was talking about. LOL, her own words. Apparently the newscaster and cameraman were a little on the attractive side leaving her a little awe struck and short on words. From her recap to me here are a few of the questions asked and her responses.

Reporter: What is your name?
Jen: J E N W H I T E, yes she spelled it thinking that's what he asked.

Reporter: What is your address?
Jen: Powell

Reporter: And your number is?
Jen: ...
Reporter: Is it 1759
Jen: Yeah that's it.

Luckily for her the editor did a great job of not making her look like a dumb ass. She did make the news for two clips and a few short seconds. It was funny to watch but even better to embarrass her about. She became a lot more embarrassed when I told her that the NBC4 channel reaches all of central Ohio and her hometown area of Athens Ohio where some of her old friends might have seen her.
