This past weekend we went up to my parents to visit for the first time since the end of February. We have not made it up in a while because we have had a lot going on in our lives since then.

Before we left town on Friday I stopped at Best Buy and purchased a dual screen DVD player for the van. Might I say money well spent. Both boys were entranced by the movie and Jen and I had a nice quiet 2-hour drive. The feature movie was Ice Age in case you were wondering. After I purchased the DVD player I took it out to the car and set it up. Well the second screen was very dim and i could not get it to be any brighter so back into the store I went. The second player I bought worked fine. Lets hope it stays that way.

On Saturday my parents took Brendan, Jen and I on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railway. It was Brendan's first train ride and he was so excited. He got to have his picture taken with the engineer and the conductor which he didn't smile for. As the train pulled out of the station we saw a 6 point buck take off out of the tall grass close by. We also got to see a beaver lodge, a bunch of Heron's nests, and a vacated bald eagle's nest. As a civil engineer it was enjoyable for me to look at a few of the bridges that crossed the valley. If you are anything like my wife you are probably asking how a bridge could be enjoyable.

Saturday evening some of our friends came over to hang out around the bonfire and shoot fireworks. There was also some frog hunting going on.
Sunday we stayed at my parents house and my dad got his RC car and boat out to show Brendan. Brendan enjoyed being able to drive the car and boat around. He looked cute playing with his grandpa.
